Timmie Turley: Coming Out as Transgender after a Life of Hiding

In this episode of Voices in Action, we sat down with Timmie Turley. She is a trans woman who had to overcome incredible obstacles throughout her life. We spoke about her upbringing and how she grew up in a household as a boy and what was expected of “him” at the time. She recalls constantly feeling more comfortable wearing women’s clothing than she did wearing men’s clothing. Here, Timmie shares her experiences with hiding from herself, hiding from her family, being blackmailed by her ex-wife, and eventually coming to self-acceptance.
